Community List Serve

Inviting all US fishery participants to join the conversation

Join the List-Serve

The Fishery Friendly Climate Action Campaign’s Community List-Serve is an interactive space for members of the commercial fishing industry to share information and identify opportunities for collective impact related to advancing fishery friendly climate action.

Eligibility to join (please read before signing up):

  • All members of the U.S. commercial fishing industry are invited to join our community list-serve. This includes: people who harvest fish for a living and their immediate families; people who operate or work for businesses that serve or depend on those who harvest fish for a living (e.g., seafood supply chain, shoreside support); and people who are employed to represent those who fish for a living (e.g., membership-based fishermen’s association staff).

  • If you work closely with the fishing industry as a consultant, academic, or NGO partner, you may join the community list-serve by being nominated by a member of the fishing industry. In order to ensure leadership by “people in boots,” membership by non-industry supporters is capped at 10% of total membership. Membership by allies will be reviewed on an annual basis. Thank you for respecting this balance.

Members of the fishing community can sign up to join the list-serve using this form.

Allies must be nominated to join by a member of the fishing community. To nominate an ally for list-serve membership, email fisheryfriendlyclimataction@gmail.com and include the nominee’s name, email, affiliation, and a brief description of their beneficial relationship to the fishing community.

The Fishery Friendly Climate Action Campaign adheres to the Jemez Principles of Democratic Organizing and we expect our partners and allies from outside the fishing community to adhere to the Rules of Conduct for Working with Small-Scale Fisheries and Fishworkers to Save Our Ocean.
