Community Sign-On Letters
Bringing fishermen’s voices to the fight for a fishery-friendly just transition
The Fishery Friendly Climate Action Campaign’s Community List-Serve offers a space for individuals, businesses, and organizations within the U.S. fishing and seafood industry to co-create and amplify their own statements in support of fishery friendly climate action.
The sign-on letters displayed below represent the fruit of these collaborations.
As of January 2023, 26 organizations and 74 individuals and businesses in the fishing industry have utilized our platform to create and submit letters and joint issue statements calling on policy makers at multiple levels to support fishery friendly climate action.
Fishermen and Fishery Leaders: How to use our platform to develop, circulate, and amplify your own policy statements
Circulate a sign-on letter through our Community List Serve. Members of the U.S. commercial fishing community and their representatives are invited to utilize the Fishery Friendly Climate Action Campaign’s community list-serve to expand the diversity and breadth of signatures on your sign-on letter. Our goal is to help climate leaders in the fishing community achieve maximum impact and solidarity across regions and fisheries.
Get your policy statement published on this page. Letters that have been circulated for signatures through the community list-serve may further request to be published on this page for added impact. The Fishery Friendly Climate Action Campaign’s Governing Council is responsible for ensuring that all letters posted to this page are aligned and consistent with the Campaign’s vision of “fishery friendly climate action”.
