Decarbonization Done Right: Integrating Fishery Impacts into Climate Action Models

In this session, we provided a comprehensive background of the intersection of energy decarbonization efforts and their impacts on fisheries that are oft-overlooked by the policymakers and carbon modelers who are driving these critical decisions. This session also provided a springboard for collaborative discussion on how the fishery industry and its stakeholders can actively shape climate action models to be partners in the process to ensure a clean environment and a climate-conscious future that factors in the needs and impacts of fisheries.

This session was led by Matt Chester, a consultant with over a decade of experience in energy policy analysis and carbon modeling, including work with the U.S. Department of Energy’s rulemaking process and an active role in providing actionable and useful feedback from stakeholders outside the government who get involved in these energy policy procedures.
